The department of DME was established 07 years ago and Dr. Kareem Shah Shirazi was appointed as first director medical education department who rendered the remarkable services for the department and as well as for the college. Then in 2017, Dr. Ahmad Zeeshan Jamil was given the charge of Director DME, SLMC.

- Build medical education department that is capable of harmonizing functioning of basic and clinical departments.
- Professional training of teachers in the art and science of teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Human resource development of administrative, medical, paramedical and ancillary staff to bring them at part with international standards of service delivery.
- Promote research by building new and strengthening existing research laboratories in basic and clinical departments.Publication of a scientific journal to encourage a culture of research.
- Introduce academic programs of international standards.
